Crazy Hat!

Sommer sure has a sense of humor. She likes making people laugh! She put this hat on and ran around the house like a crazy girl! Soooo cute!

Latest Apron

I made this apron for a friend at work for her mother. It's my first reversible apron. Themed on one side for a Hawaiian Christmas and the other just for cute looks! I have a few more people to make some for then I think I will try a new project. We will see. :)

Caught You!

The other day I caught Sommer trying to climb the fridge. If I didn't stop her I'm sure she would have made it to the ice maker! Crazy girl. When we were little I remember climbing the door jam with my brothers. :)

Apron!

So I started sewing. This is the thrird apron I have made. I am still trying to perfect my sewing around curved edges. Not as easy as it looks. :) This one I made for my mom for her Birthday. The pockets are a little uneven but over all its pretty cute. I'm going to make the childrens' a little more square since I will be making more than just a few. :)

Falling Leaves!

The temperature Friday night and Saturday morning dropped into the 20's and all the leaves on our tree on the corner seemed to fall at the same time. We woke up to two inches of leaves in the street! So Kiersten and I raked the street and part of the yard into large piles. We bagged up two and Kurt finished the yard off Sunday. It looks great now!

Shela and Sommer

Ta Da!!! Finished!!!
This weekend my goal was to sew an apron. I used a sewing pattern for the first time all by myself. I think it turned out pretty good! I love it! My next goal is to make aprons for all the girls for Christmas! I think they will love it. I found all these really cute fabrics. Above you can see Sommer was very fascinated with the sewing machine.  Very excited to start the rest of them!!!!

Friends?

At first I thought Sheriff wanted to eat it. Now I'm thinking he likes it.

Kitty?!!!

Yes we have a new addition to the family. It's a black cat named...???? We are still trying to find a good name. Sheriff and the cat... Well let's just say I can't figure out if sheriff wants to lick it to death or just eat it! We will see. Sheriff seemed to give it a nice bath today but the cat only took so much.

After!

Kiersten's artwork!

Before!

Kiersten went on a field trip to a local Farm. She made a beautiful bird feeder for the craft project there. She also came home with fresh chicken eggs! On top of all those cool things she brought home a PUMPKIN! So we just had to carve it TONIGHT! We started tearing out the guts and seeds and I let Kiersten carve it all herself. I carved the cap but she carved and drew the face.

Laughter!

This is a video of Sommer with a whistle in her mouth laughing hysterically at Sheriff! She must think its funny that Sheriff just wants to see whats in her mouth. If this video doesn't make you laugh, I don't know what will.  :)

We went to the Hobby Lobby the other day and Kurt found rubber-band airplane! It was so fun to fly them with the girls at the school. Kurt remembers flying them when he was a little boy. Its always fun to see your children so happy over the simplest little thing. :)

Happy Grandparents Day!

Since we have so many wonderful people in our lives that are Grandparents to Kiersten and Sommer we thought we would post this wonderful piece of art work Kiersten made in school. Thank you to all for everything you have done! We appreciate everything and just want to say we love you!
The card reads:
These little hands can wave hello
Or put smudges on the wall
They can fold in prayer, throw a kiss
Or reach up so very tall....
They'll clasp your hand for a little stroll
Or shape a ball from clay....
But most of all, they'll stay with you
When I'm grown up and far away!
