Mommy Daughter Date!
Kiersten and I went to Blades on Broadway in Moses Lake today. It was pretty fun. Kiersten got her finger nails and toe nails painted and I had a partial foil done. She thought it was pretty special to have a salon day. :) I really like that place. It's a beauty school and so the prices are very reasonable. Loved that the most! The service was great and they were very professional. What a great day.

Proud Mom!
So Kiersten came home the other day and showed us her student of the month award! We are so proud of her. She is learning so many new things and doing so well in her academics. Today we had conferences and as I was waiting my turn in the hall, As I was looking at all the hallway art from all the students, I saw Kiersten's solar system up on the wall that she had made. She made it all by herself one day after reading and looking at this really cool new encyclopedia we got from the scholastic book order. She brought it to school and showed the principal and he posted it on the wall in the hall with her name and grade! So proud of her!

Birthday Weekend
I went to Oma's and Papa Fred's on Sunday and had dinner with JC and Madison. We all had a great time. Carter is getting so big and Nevaeh is learning so much!
4 inches of snow gone!
Yes of course it snows right before we go to Oma and Papa Fred's house and the only snow left when we get there was in the shadows. It's ok though, the kids were so excited. Othello didn't get much snow this year.
This picture is Kiersten trying to pull out her tooth. She is pretty clever! She tied a string to her tooth then to the heavy weight. No missing teeth yet but I think she loosened them. I think she is the only kids in her class that hasn't lost any teeth yet.

Bird House
The other day we bought some pre-made bird houses at the craft store and the kids and I painted them. I think this is my new favorite hobby. It's so fun! I want to make one for every holiday. And they are so cheap they would make great gifts!

Weekend Visit
We had a great weekend! Our friends Marc and Amy and their two kids Allie and Gavin came to visit. Kiersten and Allie had fun listening to One Direction and playing in her room. They are the same age so they were busy being girls. :). Sommer thought it was so cool that there was another little kid like her in the house. Sommer called Gavin "Kevin" lol and then kiersten starting calling him that and then they couldn't stop. It was pretty cute. Anyway it was very fun to see them again.

Color Changing Volcano
We played with Kiersten's "Mind blowing science experiments" kit that she got for Christmas and we created a color changing erupting volcano! The girls thought it was so fun! The volcano consisted of flour, cabbage powder, water and baking soda. Then we poured some cabbage water around the volcano to make it look like it was an island volcano. After that we took our dropper and dropped the citric acid water mixture over the volcano and it fizzed and foamed and turned light purplish pink. Kiersten was amazed! They had a good time.
